By car

From the north:
Take the A2 autobahn Hannover-Oberhausen; exit at Gütersloh/Verl. At the intersection immediately past the exit ramp, turn right. Take the main road through the part of town known as Spexard. At the first major intersection after Spexard (right after the turnoff to a barracks), turn right onto the Stadtring Sundern (signpost reads Bielefeld, Gütersloh-Nord, Bertelsmann/Miele). At the third intersection, turn right again onto Carl-Bertelsmann-Straße (sign reads Avenwedde, Friedrichsdorf, Bertelsmann). The Bertelsmann Stiftung is on the right side of the road, directly opposite an AVIA gas station. Turn right before you reach the gas station. The reception desk is in the building on the right.

By plane

The nearest airport is the regional airport at Paderborn/Lippstadt in Ahden (approx. 45 km). Driving instructions from there: take the B 1 toward Paderborn; then take the A 33 toward Bielefeld. At the intersection of the A 33 with the A 2 at Kreuz Bielefeld, take the A2 toward Dortmund to the Gütersloh/Verl exit. Directions from there: see the "by car" directions above. The largest airport in the region is in Hannover (approx. 120 km). From there, you can get to Gütersloh by train, or by car taking the A 2 (see above). You can also get to Gütersloh from the regional airports at Dortmund (approx. 60 km) or Münster-Osnabrück (approx.65 km). Driving by car from Dortmund: take the A 2 through Oberhausen - Hanover. From Münster, the fastest way to Gütersloh is to take the B 64 (by way of Warendorf).
